2012 School Year

This is my second year with my own classroom and I am excited for the new year to start. I will have twenty four kids who are starting kindergarten and I can't wait to see their little faces walk through my door.

I have spent this week in my room getting it ready for the year. I am up to my elbows in glue and glitter. I am making my theme for the year colorful. Last year I felt like my room was so boring and I hated walking into it in the morning. Not this year.

Next week I will be having the meet the teacher meetings. This always makes me nervous because I am not good with a bunch of strangers in a room. This is the one part about being a teacher that I hate.

I am also doing a lot of my "Learning, Reading, and Helping" (or LRH) theme in my room. As a teacher these are so important to me. Of course as a teacher I want my kids to learn. And I love to get them to read at a young age. I have a list of books on my wall for goals through the year. And helping. I want all my kids to be little helpers because it makes such a big difference. When they see someone needing help I want them to just do it without having to be asked.

Hello everyone. My name is Samantha but you can call me Sam. I figured I would start blogging because my sister raves about how much she loves it. So I guess I will introduce myself.

My name is Sam (as I said). I am 24 and live in the great state of Texas. My parents were born and raised here and did the same with me and my two sisters.

I work as a teacher at an elementary school. I am also still going to school at night because as weird as it might sound I just love it. I love learning.

I am single. Blah. But I am only 24 for it's okay. My last boyfriend and I were together for about three years and about to engaged when we broke up. I hate him.

I have a little dog named Freddy. Named by my nephew who is going through a Scooby Do stage. Freddy is a cute little dog who loves to drink out of my toilet and chew on my shoes. You know I have to love him after that.

I am going to work on the design of this blog. I have a couple tutorials that I am following but with work starting up I am just too busy to focus on it right now.
